About this site
There seems to be a dearth of good content about Taiwan on the internet at the moment. Sites that do talk about Taiwan generally fall into one of the following categories:
- Taiwan newspapers: These are the obvious main source of information. Unfortunately, they all have a very clear political agenda - and so while they’re good for the basic facts, you’re not going to find much unbiased analysis there.
- International newspapers: 99% of which have a massively superficial view/understanding of Taiwan.
- Weblogs about China & Asia: Occasionally have interesting stuff, but most of them are more focused on China, and so even when they do address Taiwan, do so from a ‘how will China react’ angle.
So, whether I’m any more unbiased than Taiwanese news, insightful than international news, or focused on Taiwan than other sites is debatable, but that’s my goal
